Oct 5 (Wed) Morning Hike – Class A/B

We begin our hike at 9:30 am and hike 4 to 6 miles, for 2 to 4 hours, somewhere in the Portland metropolitan area, often in Forest Park. We then have lunch at a nearby cafe.
This week's hike will departs at 9:30 AM from Friendly House at NW Thurman and 26th.

Oct 5 (Wed) Evening Hike – Class B

We will hike from 6 pm until 8 PM-ish in Forest Park and the West Hills. Please carry a flashlight or headlamp.
Class B: Approximately 6 miles with 500 - 800 foot elevation gain (not cumulative).
Depart: 6 PM sharp! from  Wallace Park between NW 25th and 26th on Raleigh.

Oct 12 (Wed) Morning Hike – Class A/B

We begin our hike at 9:30 am and hike 4 to 6 miles, for 2 to 4 hours, somewhere in the Portland metropolitan area, often in Forest Park. We then have lunch at a nearby cafe.
This hike will meet at Sellwood Riverfront Park in the parking lot. We will hike around Oaks Bottom. Lunch will be at the Iron Horse Restaurant.

Work weekend Cancelled

The weather forecast calls for heavy rain and high winds throughout the weekend. This could make the road quite hazardous with the possibility of new trees across the road. This month's work weekend has been cancelled to keep all our hard workers safe.

Oct 15 (Sat) Pioneer Bridle Trail via Enid Lake - Class A

Cancelled due to weather

Please join me for a bit of Oregon history on this 5-mile, one-way, downhill, car shuttle hike. There will be a side trip to Zig Zag falls. If you have never done this hike, you won’t want to miss this one. It is a beautiful hike. Boots and hiking poles are recommended. Bring a lunch.
Please join us afterwards for Octoberfest dinner at Tyee Lodge following the hike. Be sure to register for the Hike & Dine if you want to eat!.
Meet: at Zig Zag Ranger Station at 10:30 AM to car shuttle to trailheads on Hwy 26. If you signup with me, I can try to coordinate car pools from town.

Cancelled due to weather

Don your lederhosen and join us for an authentic Bavarian dinner, including fondue, rouladen, spätzle, green beans, sauerkraut, green and potato salads, and more. Breakfast will be provided on Sunday morning. Normal lodge fees apply; dinner $10 and breakfast $3.

We begin our hike at 9:30 am and hike 4 to 6 miles, for 2 to 4 hours, somewhere in the Portland metropolitan area, often in Forest Park. We then have lunch at a nearby cafe.
This hike will meet at OMSI at 1945 SE Water. We have permission to park there. After the hike, lunch will be at the Theory Cafe at OMSI.

Oct 22-23 (Sat-Sun) Tyee October Work Party

Join us for our last work party of the year. Jobs we need to do area: put up avalanche signs and ropes, put up shutters, give the Lodge a complete cleaning, winterize the Lodge, and finish up any jobs that we didn’t quite get to over the summer. Lodge will open at 8:30 AM on Saturday, close around 1:00 PM on Sunday.

Oct 29-30 (Sat-Sun) Halloween at Nesika

Bring your kids, nieces and nephews and join us for Halloween fun at Nesika Lodge on Saturday, October 29. We're throwing a potluck party for the kids - bring a dish or two with you, and the cost is just $5 per person for the day. If you stay for dinner and overnight, normal lodge rates apply (see below).
We will supply plenty of candy, apples, pumpkins for pumpkin carving as well as some games and a haunted house with a scary tractor. Please bring a lunch item to share with all - baked goods, a casserole, deviled eggs!, or a main entree. And keep in mind some foods kids will like!
If you want to stay overnight, normal lodge rates apply with $7 for dinner, $3 for breakfast and $10 for lodge fees.
Where and when: You can hike up any time Saturday.
To drive in, meet 10 AM Saturday at the upper gate. We will be there from 10 - 10:15. No late arrivals!
We'll arrange for leaving the that afternoon at 3:30 to have you to the gate before dark.
