May 5 (Thurs) Multnomah Trail to Angels Rest Hike – Class B

We will hike up Multnomah Trail (441) to Waukeena Trail (420) to Waukeena Springs up 2 more miles to Angels Rest trail (415) for Lunch. I cannot think of a hike so close in that has so many cascading creeks, sublime views of the Gorge combined with so wide a spectrum of hiking difficulties. Total distance is eleven miles, the out and back to Angels Rest is four miles. For me once those 13 switch backs are done in the first mile it becomes just a serene walk in the Gorge with a multitude of cascading falls and Gorge views to die for. My estimate is the elevation gain to Angels Rest at 2,000 ft, expect to complete hike between 5 and 6 PM making the commute home manageable.
Meet: 10 AM At my house: 1260 NW Bella Vista Court, in Gresham
or 10:45 outside the Mulnomah Falls gift shop at 10:45.

Let's Talk About

Nesika Work Trip April 2nd-3rd

We had an early work trip at Nesika this year as we had a lot of blow-down to clear from the road. The turn out was very good turn out. We were able to saw, cut and split all 12 trees down on the road into Nesika. We believe we have about 8 cords of wood sitting in parking lot thanks to the 39 people who came with trucks and trailers, chain saw, splitting mauls and their hard work. At the lodge we were able to do spring cleaning. All windows were washed. All mattresses washed. Food was excellent. It was surprising, all food served at dinner was eaten. No left overs. Everyone was full and content. Thanks to the great cook helpers.
