Week-1

Feb 3 (Wed) Morning Hike – Class A/B

We begin our hike at 9:30 am and hike 4 to 6 miles, for 2 to 4 hours, somewhere in the Portland metropolitan area, often in Forest Park. We then have lunch at a nearby cafe.
This weeks hike is 4.3 miles long and there are restrooms in Fernhill and Alberta Parks. This route is relatively flat and on city streets.
Meet: 9:15 AM at the northeast corner of Fernhill Park. NE 41st. Ave. & Holman St. On street parking. depart at 9:30 am.

Feb 5-7 (Fri-Sun) Tyee Open

Cancelled - No registrations
Get up to the snow before SuperBowl. Lodge will open by 5 PM Friday and will close at 2 PM Sunday. Gluten free meals.

Please Register by Wednesday the 3rd to be included in meals.

Feb 10 (Wed) Morning Hike – Class A/B

We begin our hike at 9:30 am and hike 4 to 6 miles, for 2 to 4 hours, somewhere in the Portland metropolitan area, often in Forest Park. We then have lunch at a nearby cafe.
This week's hike will begin at Friendly House at NW Thurman and 26th. We will probably hike up through neighborhoods to Pittock Mansion.

Feb 13-15 (Sat-Mon) Tyee Open

Join us for fun in the snow Saturday to Monday with dinner Saturday and Sunday and Breakfast Sunday and Monday provided. Cook is Debi Ralls. Lodge will open around noon on Saturday and close around noon on Monday.
Saturday 1:00 guided snowshoe hike near the lodge with Mike Haasken 3-4 miles. Applicable for membership requirements.

Feb 17 (Wed) Morning Hike – Class A/B

We begin our hike at 9:30 am and hike 4 to 6 miles, for 2 to 4 hours, somewhere in the Portland metropolitan area, often in Forest Park. We then have lunch at a nearby cafe.
This week’s hike will begin at the intersection of SW 40th and SW Alfred behind Jackson Middle School in Southwest Portland. There are no restrooms here, please find a restroom before arriving.
Depart: 9:45 to allow time for the restroom break.

Feb 18 (Thur) Adventures in Travel, central and east coast Australia

Pete and Elaine Nelson will present a program about their travels last September and October thru the red center and east coast of Australia. The slideshow contains photos of the Great Ocean Road, outback, Uluru, Coober Pedy, rainforest, Great Barrier Reef, and east coast cities and beaches. It was spring down under and the flora and fauna were at their best!
Social hour 6:30 p.m, program starts at 7:00 p.m. Please bring a snack to share or $1 donation towards expenses. Guests are very welcome!
Location: Rose Villa Rec Hall, Fireside Room and Art Rooms.

Week-4

Feb 24 (Wed) Morning Hike – Class A/B

We begin our hike at 9:30 am and hike 4 to 6 miles, for 2 to 4 hours, somewhere in the Portland metropolitan area, often in Forest Park. We then have lunch at a nearby cafe.
This week we will be taking the Oswego Iron Heritage Trail, and will meet at George Rogers Park at the old stone iron smelter. There is some very good interpretative displays at the park - go early and look them over. Hike is approximately 5 miles.
Depart: 9:30 AM from George Rogers Park in Lake Oswego, along Green St. on the south side of the park.

Feb 26-28 (Fri-Sun) Tyee Open - TCO and CPT weekend

Two nights and three days at Tyee Lodge with Hosts: Pete & Elaine Nelson and Cook: Nancy Overpeck. Lodge will be open about 11 AM on Friday and close about 2 PM on Sunday. Cascade Prime Timers Ski Club (CPT) members will join us as guests. Depending on the snow conditions, snowshoeing, sledding, and X-country skiing are right outside the lodge door. Overnight Fri. and Sat., Feb 26-27. Meals: Dinner on Fri. and Sat. Breakfast on Sat. and Sun. Bring you own lunches. Cost: $40 for TCO members, $50 for guests. Bring sleeping bag, clothes, toiletries, towel, and washcloth. Bring snowshoes and/or X-country skis depending on snow conditions.
Meet at: Fri, Feb 26 at 10 AM at Restroom on east side of Government Camp (Summit Snow Park) or meet at 10:15 AM in parking area on Timberline Road.

Feb 27 (Sat) Government Camp Snowshoe – Class A

Snowshoe in the Government Camp area. Return to Tyee for hot drinks around the fire.
Depart: 10 AM from Tyee Lodge. Carpool transportation from Portland not set up for this event as the leaders are staying at Tyee.
