Jan 6 (Wed) Morning Hike – Class A/B

We begin our hike at 9:30 am and hike 4 to 6 miles, for 2 to 4 hours, somewhere in the Portland metropolitan area, often in Forest Park. We then have lunch at a nearby cafe.
This week’s hike will begin at Friendly House, NW 26th and NW Thurman. Please be ready to leave promptly at 9:30 am

Reminder: TCO hikes are generally cancelled if weather conditions cause area schools to be closed. Always check with the trip leader if weather conditions make safe travel questionable.

Week-3

Jan 13 (Wed) Morning Hike – Class A

We begin our hike at 9:30 am and hike 4 to 6 miles, for 2 to 4 hours, somewhere in the Portland metropolitan area, often in Forest Park. We then have lunch at a nearby cafe.
This week we will do a loop crossing the Steel Bridge and south to Tilikum Crossing and back to OMSI for lunch at the Theory Cafe.
Meet: 9:15 AM in front of OMSI at 1945 SE Water Ave. Parking is $5, so do carpool if you can, or take the orange line MAX or the A- or B-loop streetcar. Museum opens at 9:30 when we will go in to pay for parking, then leave promptly.

Jan 16-18 (Sat-Mon) Tyee Open

Join us for fun in the snow Saturday to Monday with dinner Saturday and Sunday and Breakfast Sunday and Monday provided. Cook is Debi Ralls. Lodge will open around noon on Saturday and close around 2 PM on Monday. Saturday 1:00 guided snowshoe hike near the lodge with Mike Haasken 3-4 miles. Applicable for membership requirements.

We begin our hike at 9:30 am and hike 4 to 6 miles, for 2 to 4 hours, somewhere in the Portland metropolitan area, often in Forest Park. We then have lunch at a nearby cafe.
This week's hike will begin at Friendly House at NW Thurman and 26th.

Jan 21 (Thu) Adventures in Travel, Gorge Towns to Trails Project

Renee Tkach, is the Gorge Towns to Trails Project Manager for Friends of the Gorge. She will present a program that supports land protection and recreational enhancements. Renee is eager to share with the public the ways Friends of the Gorge is working to promote more hiking opportunities in the Gorge. Renee’s background includes being a founding member of Cape Horn Conservancy, the Friends outdoor program coordinator, Development Outreach Director for Hells Canyon Preservation Council, and she also serves on the board of Trailkeepers of Oregon.
Social hour 6:30 p.m, program starts at 7:00 p.m. Please bring a snack to share or $1 donation towards expenses. Guests are very welcome!
Location: Rose Villa Rec Hall, Fireside Room and Art Rooms.

Jan 22-24 (Fri-Sun) Tyee Lodge Youth Stay Free Weekend

Trails Club of Oregon is sponsoring a free youth weekend (under 18) for Tyee Lodge. Youth stay free with a paying adult. We will plan some indoor and outdoor activities to keep kids busy. Parents please provide chicken for your family and a side dish for a pot luck on Saturday night. All other meals are group share kitchen to keep family costs down. All members are welcome to join in the fun.
Normal lodge fees apply to adults (18+). members $10, Guests $15, Day use $2. Youth stay for free with a paying adult.

This week We begin our hikethe Hoyt Arboretum Visitors Center,. You may pay to park in the lot or park along the road on Fairview.
Depart: 9:30 am at the Hoyt Arboretum Visitors Center, 4000 SW Fairview Blvd, Portland, OR 97221
