Week-1

Nov 4 (Wed) Morning Hike – Class A/B

We begin our hike at 9:30 am and hike 4 to 6 miles, for 2 to 4 hours, somewhere in the Portland metropolitan area, often in Forest Park. We then have lunch at a nearby cafe.
This week: We begin our hike at 9:30 am from the Spaghetti Factory restaurant at 0715 SW Bancroft St. 97239. We can park in their lot, but please park as far away from the entrance as possible in WHITE-LINED spaces only. Hike will be all on pavement, 5 miles total.

Nov 7-8 (Sat - Sun ) Annual Back Pack Seminar at Nesika

We will again have a great gathering at Nesika of backpackers and speakers. Erin Saver just back for finishing the Three great hikes this year has asked to again do a presentation. I am also looking to have a presentation on canoeing and Shawn was spotted in CO on the AT and stated he would like to come back and do a presentation on the CDT. There will be give aways, great knowledge from experienced backpackers shared and great pictures. Come and experience a good weekend of knowledge with people who love to backpack.
You must pay to be registered. Maximum is 50 so register early. Cost is $50.00 for members and guests alike. This covers our speakers, meals, and lodge fees.
Watch for Pay Pall account to be set up for on-line payments.
Meet: 8:00 AM Saturday from Multnomah falls to backpack to Nesika for the Seminar.
Or Meet : 9:00 AM Saturday at the upper gate for those who want to drive in.

Nov 9 (Mon) New Member Social

All new members since the last Annual Meeting, Nov. 2014, are invited to a New Member Social. The social begins at 6:00pm with sandwiches, in the Fireside Room at Rose Villa. This is an excellent time to meet other new members, the Board members and chairpersons, ask your questions. 7:00 is desert and at 7:30 the Annual Meeting.
Meeting Location for Annual Meeting and New Member Social is Rose Villa Recreation Hall. Do not block the garages. Bring a flash light as it can be dark.

Nov 9 (Mon) TCO Annual Meeting

We will be holding our 2015 annual meeting. At the Rose Villa Recreation Hall.
At this time we will be electing board of trustees members and considering some by-laws ammendments. Map of Rose Villa, follow route C or B to the Recreation Hall (Treasure House signs).
Social time starts at 7 PM, Meeting at 7:30 PM.

Nov 11 (Wed) Morning Hike – Class A/B

We begin our hike at 9:30 am and hike 4 to 6 miles, for 2 to 4 hours, somewhere in the Portland metropolitan area, often in Forest Park. We then have lunch at a nearby cafe.
This week: Join Ken Kane for an interpretive hike through the historic town of Willamette, now part of West Linn. Over the course of the hike we'll see Arts & Crafts homes, cow tracks in the sidewalk, beautiful views of the Willamette Valley and imagine rural Oregon life from a century ago.

Meet At: 9:15am at the corner of 14th Street and Willamette Falls Drive in West Linn. Note that the starting point is approximately 30 minutes from downtown Portland. Allow yourself extra travel time so the hike can step off promptly at 9:30.

Nov 18 (Wed) Morning Hike – Class A/B

We begin our hike at 9:30 am and hike 4 to 6 miles, for 2 to 4 hours, somewhere in the Portland metropolitan area, often in Forest Park. We then have lunch at a nearby cafe.
This hike will be to Council Crest.
Meet: 9:30 AM at the corner of SW Spring and SW 18th, near Ainsworth Elementary school.

Nov 19 (Thu) Adventures in Travel - Canada's Southern Tier

Audrey Perino and Ken Kane will share photos and experiences in three of Canada's largest cities, Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal ... with a nighttime side trip to Niagara Falls. From totem poles to hockey pucks to Chinese lanterns to thundering falls, you'll see it all!
Social hour 6:30 p.m., program starts at 7 p.m. Please bring a snack to share or $1 donation to help defray costs. Guests are very welcome!
Location: Rose Villa Rec Hall, Fireside Room.

Nov 25 (Wed) Morning Hike – Class A/B

We begin our hike at 9:30 am and hike 4 to 6 miles, for 2 to 4 hours, somewhere in the Portland metropolitan area, often in Forest Park. We then have lunch at a nearby cafe. This week we will be walking to Pittock Mansion.
Depart: 9:30 AM from Friendly House at NW Thurman and 26th.

Nov 26 (Thur) Thanksgiving Potluck Dinner

Please join Barb and Warren Jones for a turkey dinner on Thanksgiving Day. I will cook the turkey, and we can make this an organized potluck. Appetizers and socializing will start at 1:30 PM, Dinner at @ 4 PM. Come and enjoy games and conversation.
Location: Barb's place in Mulino, a 20 minute drive from I-205.
