Week-1
Nov 1-2 (Sat-Sun) Annual Backpack Seminar - Neska lodge
We will again have a great gathering at Nesika of backpackers and speakers.
Erin Saver just back for finishing the Triple Crown will be joining us for
a presentation along with others. There is a new gorge trail we will have
a slide show on. There will be give aways, great knowledge from experienced
backpackers shared and great pictures. Come and experience a good weekend
of knowledge with people who love to backpack.
We will be setting up a hike leader to leave Multnomah falls at 8:00 AM to
come up to Nesika for the Seminar. The gate on Larch MTN road will be open
at 9:00 AM Saturday for those who want to drive in.

Nov 20 (Thurs) Adventures and Travel - On Safari in South Africa
Earlier this year, Susan Saul explored the Rainbow Nation on a trip that
combined nature, culture and human history. From lions and elephants to Nelson
Mandela, from the Cape Floral Kingdom to hiking Table Mountain, from flamingos
to the five tribes that call it their homeland, Susan discovered that South
Africa is much more than the nature shows on TV.
Social Hour 6:15 p.m., program starts 7 p.m. at Rose Villa Rec Hall, 13505
SE River Rd, Milwaukie, Or. Please bring a snack to share or $1 donation
appreciated. All guests are welcome!

Nov 26 (Wed) Morning Hike – Class A/B
We hike 4 to 6 miles, for 2 to 4 hours, usually in Forest Park, then lunch at a nearby cafe. If you would like to know the distance or difficulty of the hike, call the leader.
This weeks hikewill begin at 9:45 AM from the Pittock Mansion.
The Pittock Mansion can be reached by automobile West of Downtown Portland on
Burnside by turning North at a yellow blinking light (Barnes Rd. and signs to PittockMansion at the turnoff)
and then right on NW Pittock Ave. It is approximately 1/2 mile to the parking lot.
One can also take the #20 bus up Burnside to the turnoff and walk the 1/2 mile.
Restrooms are available at the lower end of the PM parking lot.
Audrey has graciously offered to come by Friendly house at 9:30 on her way.

Nov 28-30 (Fri - Sun) Thanksgiving at Nesika - Host only
Nesika will be open Friday through Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend. It is
bring your own food. No running water. We will have electricity, movies
at night, and possible Larch mt. assent on Saturday the 29th if anyone
wants to go. Hike in or if still able we will drive to at least the Green
Gate.
